MYP Curriculum
Primary School
Secondary School
As an IB World School, Global Jaya School strives to be in line with the concept and skill-focused of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The MYP caters for youth from the age of 11 to 16 by giving a framework for them to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. With the focus of skill development, the programme encourages students to continue what they’ve learned in the Primary Years Programme about inquiry and agency. MYP encourages students to inquire about the problems that are close to their environment and relevant to their life.
We also believe that at this age, students further develop their communication and affective skills. That is why students are required to be involved in the Service Action programme, where they investigate the needs of their communities and develop their own service-oriented projects. These projects also encourage students to collaborate with others, be mindful of the needs of others and to hone their problem-solving skills.
