1995 - 1996

  • Sekolah Global Jaya (SGJ) was built on a 6.6 hectare plot of land in Bintaro Jaya Sektor IX starting with a three-story building for Administration and Primary School.
  • SGJ was inaugurated on December 16, 1995 by the ministry of education, Dr. Wardiman Djojonegoro.
  • SGJ used the Indonesian National Curriculum and an active learning methodology.

1997 - 1998

  • Secondary School Accreditation (SMP) from Depdiknas *Status disamakan.
  • First swimming carnival.

1998 - 1999

  • With the increased enrolment, a three-story building for Secondary school was built.
  • New canteen was created to cater for more than 400 people.
  • New sporting facilities: Tennis court and soccer fields.

1999 - 2000

  • Secondary School Accreditation (SMA) from Depdiknas *Status disamakan.
  • The school website was first established during this year to promote SGJ to the international community.

2000 - 2001

  • SGJ received international accreditation from Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
  • The House system was established this year, where all students and staff were divided into houses: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow.

2002 - 2003

  • SGJ received re-accreditation for Primary School (SD) from Depdiknas with a very good result.
  • Implementation of International Baccalaureate Primary Programme and Middle Years Programme.

2003 - 2004

  • Upgrading facilities including library, Performing Arts Center, Gymnasium, 2 additional computer rooms in secondary, 2 secondary buildings, 1 primary building, canteen, 2 soccer fields, 2 basketball courts, and the swimming pool.

2004 - 2005

  • SGJ has IB authorization.
  • WIFI access covers all campus area.

2008 - 2009

  • Sekolah Global Jaya to Global Jaya International School.

2012 - 2013

  • The theater was built in 2013.

2014 - 2015

  • Global Jaya International School to Global Jaya School.

2022 - 2023

  • GJS Alumni Association is established

2024 - 2025

  • Soccer field was upgraded to meet with the FIFA standardization.
